Device Layouts
This information is still in development and may be incomplete.
Grid View
The default view for devices is the grid layout, where devices are displayed as tiles. Because of the limited space available for device information in the grid layout, device details are condensed to optimize the user experience according to things such as the number of features and their type info. When a device is displayed in this view, the status and controls on the priority feature is used as the primary information set on the tile.
- Single Priority Feature Layout
- Multiple Priority Feature Layout
- Thermostat Layout
- Media Layout
- TBD Weather Hub Layout
- TBD Network Switch Layout
How is the primary feature determined?
Currently, the primary priority feature is determined automatically based on the configuration of the device and the number different types of features associated with the device.
- When there is only one feature with controls, that feature is used as the primary feature.
- When there is only one feature with statuses that is not a battery or central scene feature, that feature is used as the primary feature.
Multiple Priority Feature Layout
Devices with multiple priority features fit two possible layouts based on whether the priority features have controls or are just status displays.
There is currently no way to mark device features as primary or configure the order of priority for device features. This will be added in the near future.
