Node Test

Information on performing a Node Test on a Z-Wave network

Overview

After restoring a Z-Wave network or an entire HS4 configuration, performing a node test will scan your network to see which devices are communicating and which are not.

Navigation

Access the Manage Interfaces page from Plugins > Z-Wave >

Advanced Functions

Procedure

  1. From the Advanced Functions page, select Node Test in the drop-down menu, then click Continue.
  2. Click Start and the system will reach out to each node in your network and log the results. Once it is complete, it will automatically move along to step 4 where you can click Details to see those logs again. Click Finish to return to your Devices page or Run Another Function if you have more advanced Z-Wave functions to run. If you miss the logs on the Advanced Z-Wave Controller Functions page, you can also go to Tools > Log to review them.

Notes

Battery powered devices will need to be woken up in order to respond to a test like this, so do not worry if your battery-powered devices do not respond. Those devices can be tested individually by attempting to control them from the web interface or using the Test Connectivity function in Device Diagnostics.
